In 2015, billionaire Denis O'Brien successfully applied for an injunction against RTÃ‰ preventing the state broadcaster from airing a report on how O'Brien was receiving, with the direct permission of former CEO of the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC)â€”the former Anglo Irish Bank, a rate of approximately 1.25% when IBRC should have been charging 7.5%. O'Brien then wrote to special liquidator Kieran Wallace to demand that these same favourable terms that were granted him by way of verbal agreement be continued. The Irish government later appointed Kieran Wallace to conduct an investigation into these same dealings. Wallace then cooperated with IBRC and Denis O'Brien to seek an injunction in Ireland's High Court to hide this information from the public. High court Judge Donald Binchy granted O'Brien the injunction and told the court that certain elements of the judgement would have to be redacted. The Irish media therefore could not report on details of the injunction.<br />

Catherine Murphy, T.D., attempted to raise the issue in the DÃ¡il on 27 May 2015. SeÃ¡n Barrett ruled her contributions "out of order". Murphy attempted to raise the matter again the following day, this time with more success. Lawyers acting for O'Brien immediately forced the country's media to censor its own coverage, with some media outlets confirming they had received warnings from O'Brien's lawyers. RTÃ‰ reporter Philip Boucher-Hayes tweeted that <i>Drivetime</i> would play Murphyâ€™s speech; in the event, Murphy's speech was not broadcast and his tweet was later deleted. <i>Tonight with Vincent Browne</i> (with Browne absent and instead moderated by Ger Colleran, editor of INM's <i>Irish Daily Star</i>) featured Colleran reading a statement from TV3 management asserting that no discussion about Murphy's comments would be allowed following letters from O'Brien's lawyers. Foreign commentators covering these events for the international media suggested Irish democracy had been "wiped away at a stroke".<br />

In June 2015, the government announced the launch of a Commission of Investigation into IBRC's business dealings, to be headed by a High Court judge. This is to take place instead of a previously announced inquiry which was to be conducted by KPMG, IBRC's own auditors. The Commission is due to report before the end of 2015. The Commission will investigate transactions, activities and management decisions which resulted in a loss of â‚¬10 million or more for the taxpayer. It will also cover "internal IBRC governance procedures and controls" and whether these "were fit for purpose", and will also examine the controversial sale of Siteserv to Denis O'Brien following a debt writedown of â‚¬119 million.<br />

Zion's Savings Bank and Trust Company was started by Brigham Young, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), in 1873. This became Utah's first chartered bank. The Northwest Crossing National Bank was founded in 1989. Walter Johnson joined the company in February 1990. While he was the head of the company, its name changed to the Southwest Bank of Texas. Its second capital offering occurred in December 1992. Its first public offering occurred in January 1997.<br />
On the afternoon of Tuesday January 25, 2005, the Southwest Bank of Texas announced that it would change its name to its current name. The name change took effect on March 7 of that year. Southwest Bancorporation of Texas Inc., the parent company, was scheduled to change its name in May of that year, pending approval from the company shareholders. The NASDAQ symbol for the company was changed from SWBT to ANBK.<br />
In July 2005 Zions Bancorporation announced that it would buy Amegy Bancorp for $1.7 billion in cash and stock.<br />
In 2007 Amegy Bank signed a definitive merger/purchase agreement with InterContinental National Bank of San Antonio.<br />

Amegy Bank first moved to the Uptown area in 1990. Prior to 1996 Amegy Bank had its headquarters in the three story, 57,000 square feet (5,300Â m<sup>2</sup>) ICA Center, which is across the street from Five Post Oak Park. Amegy Bank leased almost all of the space in the building, which was owned by the Insurance Corporation of North America. The bank had a three lane drive in facility at the ICA Center.<br />
For a two-year period ending in 1996, Amegy searched for a location for its new headquarters. In 1996 Amegy decided to switch places with Heritage Bank, which leased in Five Post Oak Park. By July 1996 the two banks signed lease agreements with their new landlords. After Amegy moved to Five Post Oak Park, it initially received 80,000 square feet (7,400Â m<sup>2</sup>) of space while it had an option for more space. In addition the move allowed Amegy increased signage space and it allowed both banks to retain their offices in the vicinity of Uptown. The bank initially leased five floors and placed signs on both sides of the building and on the ground level. The bank also gained a five lane drive through facility.<br />
